    Crosses all over the boulevard
The streets outside your window overflooded
People staring they know you've been broken
Repeatedly reminded by the looks on their faces
Ignore them tonight and you'll be alright
We'll cast some light and you'll be alright

Imagine what has already been turned over to the US government for 'anti-terrorist' crap.

I'd hate to think of what Google has got on me!  I have looked up some very odd things.  Haven't we all, though.

Eh thats pretty much a well known fact.. 98% of all internet traffic cant be traced.. besides if your that paranoid most ISP's offer a proxy  server which makes quieries on your behalf and just relays them back to you

Unfortunately the majority of people are not proxy-savvy, but then, most people don't need to hide from the government.  Nevertheless, the government is not allowed to snoop on its citizens without reasonable cause, but then the whole wire taps by the president are setting a dangerous precident on that matter. Who knows, maybe proxies might become contraband sometime soon...

I hope we get some legislation banning these illegal searches.  Of course, it won't happen that way.  That would be the right thing to do.

They actually aren't illegal, questionable yes but not illegal

Google collects all that data legally (read thier use agreement) to check stats on thier website and determine advertising

Again, not a loop hole. By using a site you agree to thier terms and conditions. Google states they collect annoymous stats in order to best operate thier site. And under normal situtations an IP address can only narrow you down to which city you live in at best. The ISP is the one that can look up an account via that IP.

We collect all the same stuff google does as far as where our members visit, logs of PM's etc. Any personally identifiable data we receive is used in house only. If required to do so I would also release the information to a notable and trust worthy agency for review. How ever they would also get only partial IP's and search results which again doesnt identify anyone.

In googles case, it was do what they say or shut down

Being someone who's been affected by the "wonders" of the internet, it really goes to show that you need to keep your personal info among only people you can truly trust.
Limit where you put personal photo's and never give out phone numbers, addresses unless you're competely certain the person you're speaking to is legit.

I think sometimes people are a bit too paranoid though.
Yes people steal personal info, money, ect, but it doesn't mean you should suspect everyone you talk to of being a bad person.
When choosing between two evils, I always like to try the one I've never tried before.

I try and trust everyone until they give me a reason not to trust them

As long as they don't come knockin' on my door.  I have no problem.  And If I come knockin' on their door, it's because they've taken something that belongs to me :p  Or they decided to have a party.

In March this year, a man with a passion for Portuguese football, living in a city in Florida, was drinking heavily because his wife was having an affair. He typed his troubles into the search window of his computer. "My wife doesnt love animore," he told the machine. He searched for "Stop your divorce" and "I want revenge to my wife" before turning to self-examination with "alchool withdrawl", "alchool withdrawl sintoms" (at 10 in the morning) and "disfunctional erection". On April 1 he was looking for a local medium who could "predict my futur".

He must have been pretty drunk if he was mispelling his words :p

that's a bit mindless of information do you not think? Do we really need to know that some drunk man in Florida searches google when drunk?
A bit silly I think, but yet we are given all this useless information every day

Ah google, our soon to be overlords and masters.
Before you know it, everyone on your block will know when you blow your nose. Relatives across sees will be able to keep tabs on when you use the toilet and your employer will be able to surf the net to find what your kinkiest fantasy is... oh wait they can already do that one!

~ That's my opinion... if you don't like it...
