It is very frustrating! Once I get close to 1000 posts I lose posts again and again!
Now I am below 800!

Paulo,
It's becuase you didn't actually have that many and they real number had to be reset. In the data base it was not tracking post counts for you and a few other people properly, this *should* be fixed for good now.
But, on the site post counts have the same function as a big dick... Only to make you more popular (Ok the big penis thing's a lie... but posts still only make you popular lol)

One thing to keep in mind, and Im having these discussions with Robbie
Posts from things like Survivor, Idol and Amazing race are not going to be here for ever and are purged. In order to reduce costs we need to be able to remove posts from the site to free up space, when this happens a recount is required to keep the data base happy.
I've worked on a script to mitigate some of this, but I haven't had a chance to test it yet

That may be so,
That being said, the recounts are part of the site's required upkeep, and they are not preventable when I do site updates (as the script that does the upgrade recounts everything by it self) But anywhoodles.. as I said I'm trying to prevent the behavior from being seen (even if it means exporting the count tables and re-importing them after every upgrade)

Paulo and Thiago's counts were reset to roughly what they should be (Resulting in increased post counts)
