i am not selfish today is the first day of Sping in sunny South Africa it means summer is around the corner

now autumn is coming...the air gets nice and crisp and you get to kick leaves around when walking!!....and have conker contests...lol

I've never heard of conker contests, either.  

According to WIKI:

Conkers is a game traditionally played by children in Britain, Ireland and some former British colonies using the nuts of horse-chestnut trees – the name conker is also applied to the nut and to the tree itself. The game is played by two players, each with a conker threaded onto a piece of string: they take turns to strike each other's conker until one breaks.

that's exactly what conker contests are for!!!...and they're good fun...lol

we used to bake them in the oven to make them harder...lol

it's a shame though cos in this lovely health and safety may be sued conscious world we live in...some schools have now banned them from schools

but why its like everything we used to do as kids is bad for kids of today i mean i never had such things as knee pads and helmets for my bicycle and skateboard it pathetic how everything has changed
