    Be not afraid of Greatness.
    Some are born Great,
    Some achieve Greatness,
    Some have Greatness thrust upon.

I just finished reading The Davinci Code last night, and I highly recommend it to everyone, those who are Christian and those who are not. It is very enlightening..
    I stand amid the roar
    Of a surf-tormented shore,
And I hold within my hand
    Grains of the golden sand—
How few! yet how they creep
Through my fingers to the deep,
    While I weep—while I weep!
O God! can I not grasp
    Them with a tighter clasp?
O God! can I not save
    One from the pitiless wave?
Is all that we see or seem
But a dream within a dream?

    ~Edgar Allan Poe

    Right now I'm reading Wicked.

I am enjoying it very much.  Very different from the musical, which I have seen already in New York.
Pick it up, it's a good read.

    lmfaoo sir
am not reading anything at the moment *mental spanks, lol*
but the last book i read was *When Nietzsche wept*by  Irvin Yalom,
and i really advise it for those who dont want a passive reading, but something that really makes
u think and can even change ur views abt many things concerning ur inner battle etc...
i loved it so much that i was dreading the moment when i would finish it :1346:

I'm reading Eats, Shoots & Leaves by Lynn Truss.

It's a fun book that makes fun of bad punctuation.  :)

I'm reading Uncle Tom's Cabin by Harriet Beecher Stowe.
It's THE book that is said to have started the abolition of slavery in the American South.  We are reading it in my English 410 class.  It's actually not that bad of a read.  :wt-hell:

That is very interesting that you say that because we were talking in class about how, when it came out, Uncle Tom's Cabin became a huge craze all over the world.  It's cool to know that it has been translated to all kinds of different languages, but then again I'm sure a lot of classic literature is at this point.  I'm glad you enjoyed it.

ooh my next factual book is 'the writing's on the wall China and the West' we should compare notes! but first I have to finish

'Scars of war-wounds of peace the Israeli-arab tragedy' by Shlomo ben-ami

I'm also reading 'Everything is illuminated' by Jonathan Safran-Foer which is a brilliantly written novel, managing to be laugh out loud funny, poigniant, sad and use wordplay smarter than anything I've read since 'Catch 22'

Plus if you happen do be Jewish you might get something extra out of it as sometimes I feel like I'm missing out on some cultural 'in jokes'...
    Crosses all over the boulevard
The streets outside your window overflooded
People staring they know you've been broken
Repeatedly reminded by the looks on their faces
Ignore them tonight and you'll be alright
We'll cast some light and you'll be alright
