I have a friend who swears  she would NEVER date an actor, even if he was the last guy on earth. Her  reasoning is that you could never trust a thing he said, his emotions could all  be rehearsed, so in essence the entire relationship you could be a  lie.

I'm just wondering what  people's thoughts are about that, do you agree or disagree?

The same could be said about ANYONE, mental manipulation is not specific to someone's careers.

I know I dated an actor once and it was one of my most normal relationships.. EVER

Haha this is a funny question. But no, I don't think
actors actually do that. I think it's a very common
sense to feel like that. But it's a job...or a hobby
as someone once told me. And for example if I ever
were to become an actor, I think the last thing
that I want people to think is that I'm fake or that
just because acting is my job, I'm gonna use my talents
to manipulate people or something....

So yes, I would date an actor, actress...just
like everyone else, I would like their
personality.

Well I do think there's some truth to it. If someone is a manipulative person to start with they could use their ability to 'fake' their emotions to get what they want.

I personally don't think all actors are like that are, a lot are though...
But I think if I really liked a guy, I'd just trust him (even if he was an actor )

I've had bad experiences with actors.... it is hard to tell if they're being truthful

Yeah.... I'd date an actress.... if she was down to Earth and personable.  I wouldn't NOT date her because of the fact that she's an actress if that's what you're saying...

I guess my problem is I'm too trusting, I couldn't tell if someone is lying to me or not. I guess in theory it's "easier" for an actor to lie, because really all they do is make you believe something is believe something is happening around them when it's all just pretend (like when performing a story in a show, they make you believe the story is actually happening)

But I guess it's the age old chiche, you can't judge a book by it's cover

I also had bad experience dating actors (did that twice), it wasn't about acting or something like that, it was I couldn't count on them (they were childish and very self centered).

i think it's a career...they have to learn their lines...become the character they're playing.....that can't be easy
