Is acting a hobby or something you plan to pursue?

Hmmm I have been in some plays.
I would love it someday if it would be my job,
for right now, it's just a hobby!
I would love to plain a really mean
asshole villain someday, that'd be cool.

Hmmm since it's hard to get guys to act, along with me being actually quite good at acting, I've almost always ended up with the lead.
These are some of the most important roles up until now:
I played Vasco da Gama in the "Lusiadas" (He is the commander of the ship that discovered south America, and he was lured into an island by nymphs)
I played Mr. Smith in Eugene Ionesco's "Bald Singer". (One of the funniest plays of my life, and there was one time where after me telling a story about a snake and a fox all the audience stood and applauded and I cried so much)
I played Peter in "Anne Frank's Diary". (So sad it hurts)
My cherry on top of the cake is Gaév from Anton Pavlov Tchékhov's "Cherry Tree Orchard" where I was directed by a golden globe award winner and his wife (who is a professional actress too) and we won the most prestigious Theatre festival in Portugal. It was awesomely played, awesome people on stage, everything went so well that we were continuously invited all over Portugal to play. Everything paid, it was the most awesome year of my life. I can't get enough of that play. We had a tour and the three main characters (me, the cherry tree orchard owner; my sister, the nutty; and the cherry tree orchard buyer) are now invited for castings and stuff.
Unfortunately, I can't attend them because I need to work to pay for my expensive academic life.
And that's it.

I get so nervous talking in front of large groups (which really sucks when I'm teaching)
My first day of teaching a workshop, I threw up for half an hour because of nerves.
When I was able to convince myself to get on stage I guess I was ok.
When I was younger I was Oliver in Oliver Twist, I did a bunch of Shakespeare (Hamlet, Julius Caesar, Taming of the Shrew, Othello)
I got cast as the lead in a YTV kids series, but I ended up not being able to take the role because I was in Toronto when they wanted to start shooting (they filmed it in Winnipeg)
Then I got to high school and I just gave up on acting. I didn't like the politics of it. I guess I'm too proud to suck up
Not that high school is real acting or anything, but it was a big thing to be 17 and told that because you have a slight accent (that people only seem to notice when I sing) I wasn't "compatible" with having a lead role in any of the plays.
*rolls eyes*
Oh that and not looking Anglo enough (my drama teacher was a racist)
I don't think I'd get back into it though, I don't have the passion I had for it when I was younger
Plus I was MUCH cuter back then compared to now

For me I like acting but according to some people I need more practice at it. I think it is a hobby of mine though lately I've been thinking of using acting in my program that I am taking right now. So I think I want to maybe persue acting more. We'll see. I'm still undecided.
